Privacy policy

Repsol respects your right to privacy when you use our website and interact with us. We also wish to maintain a transparent relationship with you by informing you of how we collect and safely process any information that you provide while using our services. To that end, we have created this Privacy Policy (hereinafter the·"Policy") that you can refer to it to find any information you may need. You should know that this Policy is applicable to all environments, websites, channels, applications, promotions, and any other online initiative run by any company in the Repsol Group (you can see the up-to-date list on www.informeanual.repsol.com) that needs to process our users’ personal data. This Policy is therefore not applicable to websites belonging to third parties, including those that can be accessed using a link on one of our sites. Keep in mind that the principles outlined in this Policy are applicable to all the companies in our Group that are able to act as the owner of the services (information that you will receive upon registering); if required by the laws in your country, this Policy may be complemented by local regulations. It is important that you read this Policy carefully, as it provides the necessary information for you to be able to make an informed decision when choosing from all of the services we make available to you. We hope that all this information will be useful to you, but if necessary, you can get in touch with us at any time for additional information.

I. Privacy policy

First of all, we would like to provide you with the definition of a number of terms that you will see throughout this document:

“Online Services” - This includes any online environment, website, channels, applications, promotions, as well as any other online initiative of a Repsol Group company.

“Personal data" - This refers to any information concerning physical persons that identifies them or makes them identifiable, i.e., the information makes your identification possible.

"User or stakeholder" - This refers to you as the owner of your information data.

"Third Parties" - This refers to any physical or legal person separate from the Repsol Group or the user.

“Consent” - This corresponds to any free, unequivocal, specific, and informed declaration of wishes through which you approve the use of your information.

"Use of personal data" - Technical procedures and operations, automated or otherwise, that are used to collect, record, store, use, produce, modify, block, or delete, as well as transfer or communicate data.

"Transfer or communication of data" - Any disclosure of data to a Third Party.

“Unique Repsol User” - This is the user account you create when you register under the Repsol Single Registration to access our Online Services. Its content is included in your user account in the Single Registration System (Your Account).

1. What is the Repsol Single Registration?

Repsol has created a Single Registration System to provide you with access to all the Online Services we offer. With the Repsol Single Registration, you can access Online Services by providing only the information that you have not previously provided and which is necessary for a given service. This means that you will not need to provide us with all of your information again each time you register for another Online Service, but rather you will only need to provide the information which we do not have or is necessary to provide or improve the service.

To this end, once you have created Your Account your data will need to be shared between the different Repsol Group companies to identify which services you have registered for. In addition, we will use this information to inform you of news, events, promotions, and offers in the industries of transportation, automotive aid, insurance, finance, leisure, travel, house and home, consulting, or telecommunications.

2. What personal data does Repsol collect through its Online Services and how?

We only collect the personal data that you give us, or information that comes from you accessing and using our Online Services or your own internet browsing, such as (i) information provided when registering, (ii) information provided when using the service, (iii) information from any communication between you and us, (iv) information from your internet browsing, such as cookies (information on a user’s preferences collected when he/she visits a website), links, and system information, which you can find more information about in our Cookies Policy on our website; (v) any other information you authorize us to use.

Similarly, when you create Your Account or sign up for an Online Service, you can decide to let us receive directly from your social network profiles any information that you have authorized for sharing with third parties.

3. What does Repsol use your personal data for?

We use your personal data primarily to create and manage Your Account as a Unique Repsol User and provide you with the Online Services that you register for.

Additionally, information from Your Account will also be processed to collect stats about the usability of our Online Services, which will help us to make them more user-friendly and provide you with personalized content about our products and services related to transportation, automotive aid, insurance, finance, leisure, travel, house and home, consulting, or telecommunications.

When you sign up for an Online Service, you can also authorize additional uses of your data. You do not need to worry, as every time you sign up for an Online Service we will provide a clear explanation about how your information will be used so that you can make an informed decision.

We vow to process your data in accordance with the relevant regulations, and specifically to (i) use the data we have access to with sufficient confidentiality guarantees; and (ii) to implement the necessary technical and organizational security measures to avoid your data being altered, lost, accessed, or processed without your permission. However, keep in mind that due to the current state of internet security, it is not possible for us to guarantee that Users’ information will not be used illicitly by third parties.

4. Where and how does Repsol store your personal data?

Your personal data is stored in databases and Repsol takes every measure that is necessary to keep this data safe and private in accordance with European legislation, one of the most protective of the privacy of interested parties.

Repsol is a global company and it is possible that, in certain cases, and for technical or organizational reasons, your personal data may be transferred internationally, in which case you will be properly informed when you access the Online Service so that you can give your Consent. Notwithstanding, we will adopt the necessary legal measures.

5. Who has access to your personal data and why?

It is important that you know that Repsol S. A. is the company managing the database for Your Account and is the entity that will use your information to control registration and access to the Online Services of the various Repsol Group companies providing the services which we will inform you of in each case.

When you sign up for one of our Online Services, we will also inform you about which Repsol Group company will use your data to provide you this service.

We inform you that your personal data is stored in databases that are only accessible to our employees and Third parties authorized to use them in compliance with Repsol’s long-established security policies, in which we require our service providers to use your data solely and exclusively to provide the services we request from them, in accordance with the laws that govern personal data protection and guarantee confidentiality.

Repsol will not transfer your data to any Third party except for those companies in the Repsol Group to which you give your consent and for the specific purposes authorized by you.

6. How long will Repsol store your personal data?

Repsol will keep your personal data for as long as you continue to use the Online Services. However, if we detect that you have not used or been active on Your Account or any of our Online Services for one (1) year, we will proceed to shut down Your Account by blocking your data.

As a result, if you want to use any of the Online Services again, you will need to register as a new user.

You should keep in mind that you have the right to delete your personal data at any time. Please see Question 7 “What rights do you have regarding the use of your data?” for more information.

7. What rights do you have regarding the use of your data?

You have a series of rights, called ARCO Rights, regarding the use of your data that you can exercise at any time. These rights are inherent to every individual and therefore inalienable. Here is a description of each one:

(i) Access: The right to see information about how Repsol uses your data, but not other people’s data.

(ii) Rectification: The right to correct or modify your data if it is inaccurate or incomplete, in order to ensure that the information we have for you is correct.

(iii) Cancellation: The right to request that we delete your data.

(iv) Opposition: The right to request that we do not use your data or that we stop using data that does not require your consent for use, or if you would like us to stop sending commercial communications. However, keep in mind that for some Online Services you accept that you will be sent commercial communications in exchange for using the Online Service, and you will be informed of this beforehand.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, all you need to do is send your request in an email to sacportal@repsol.com with the subject “ARCO ONLINE USERS” to help us identify and prioritize your request.

8. Does Repsol communicate with third-party websites?

Repsol does not transfer your data to any Third party unless you give your express consent. These third-party websites are out of our control and are not covered by this Policy. If you access other websites using links that we may have provided, keep in mind that their operators may collect your personal data. Please make sure that you are familiar with and agree with their legal warnings and privacy rules before you continue to browse their websites or provide any personal data.

9. How does Repsol use your data on social networks?

We recommend that you avoid including personal information (about yourself or third parties) when you interact with us on social networks. However, if despite this you decide to include personal information, you should know that your data will be used by us in accordance with this Policy.

Specifically, any data that you provide us via social networks will be added to a file belonging to REPSOL S.A. with its corporate headquarters in Madrid, calle Méndez Álvaro 44, 28045, in order for us to interact with you on the various social networks so that you can get to know us better and learn about our activities and values. Although this is not the best channel for sending complaints or suggestions, if you do send us any requests, claims, suggestions, or complaints via social networks regarding another Repsol Group company, you should know that we will provide them with your basic data so that they can attend to you and process your request properly.

In this case, you may exercise your access, rectification, cancelation, and opposition rights against Repsol S.A. or the company that we transfer your data to, in accordance with Question 7. “What rights do you have regarding the use of your data?”

It is important that you keep in mind that, when you interact with us on social networks, these networks are the responsibility of each of their operators, as they outside our control and are regulated by the terms of use established by their operators. Therefore, they are not covered by the content of this Policy. We recommend that you make sure you are familiar with and agree with their legal terms and privacy regulations before continuing to use them or providing any type of personal data.

10. What happens to my personal data when I send/share any content from an Online Service with another person?

Some of our Online Services may give you the option to send/share content with another person, however you must know that you are the person who will perform this action by your own means. Repsol will not send or use any information or data belonging to the Third Parties to which you wish to send or share any information.

11. What is Repsol’s policy regarding the personal data of minors?

Our Online Services are intended for people aged over 18. We recommend that parents and guardians regularly check and supervise their children’s activity on the internet and social media. Please, make sure that your children do not provide us with personal data without first requesting your approval and consent.

If you are younger than 14, you must request the consent and approval of your parents or guardians to provide your personal data to Repsol's Online Services. If you do not understand something in our explanations, ask for help from your parents or guardians.

You can access the personal data of your children or minors (under the age of 14) under your responsibility at any time, in their Private Area. Remember that you can find more information about this under Question 7. “What rights do you have regarding the use of your data?”

12. How can you remove your account from the Repsol Single Registration and/or an Online Service?

You can deactivate Your Account by sending a request via email to sacportal@repsol.com.

Keep in mind that if you deactivate Your Account, you will cease to be a Unique Repsol User, meaning that you will no longer be able to access all of the Online Services that you were signed up to. Remember that in order to use any of the Online Services you need to first create a Unique Repsol User account beforehand.

You can deactivate any Online Service by following the instructions provided by us and/or specified in the corresponding specific conditions. If you deactivate an Online Service, you will simply no longer be able to access that service, in accordance with that Online Service’s specific conditions. Your Account will remain activated for as long as you have any Online Services active.

13. Can Repsol change the terms of the Policy?

We can modify this Policy at any time, but we will always inform you of any significant changes with a corresponding notification through our Online Services. Modifications will never be applied retroactively and will only come into force after their publication date. We recommend that you regularly check our Policy and the terms of use for our Online Services.

If you do not agree with our new Policy, we regret to inform you that you cannot continue to use the Online Services that are affected by the changes.

You may exercise your ARCO rights in accordance with Question 7 “What rights do you have regarding the use of your data?”

14. What are your responsibilities?

You are responsible for every piece of data that you provide to Repsol, for any lack of veracity, exactness, validity and authenticity of your data, and for the consent that you grant for its use. You are also responsible for the data of Third parties that you provide to us, and for which you are obliged to obtain their consent.
